Customer service

I am committed to providing you with a high standard of service. If you are dissatisfied with the service you receive, please let me know and I will do my utmost to address your concerns. If you are still not satisfied you can refer your complaint to the International Association of Bookkeepers.

Professional insurance

I have professional indemnity insurance, which provides protection and support in the event of claims of negligence, errors and omissions.

Data protection

Information and data provided by you will be processed and stored securely to comply with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).

Applicable law

These terms and conditions are governed by and should be construed in accordance with English Law. The Courts of England will have jurisdiction in relation to any claim, dispute or difference concerning these terms and conditions and any matters arising from them. Each party irrevocably waives any right it may have to object to any action being brought in those Courts, to claim that the action has been brought in an inappropriate forum, or to claim that those courts do not have jurisdiction.

Client identification

All bookkeepers must comply with the duties imposed by the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002, The Terrorism Act 2000 and the Money Laundering Regulations 2007/2017. Failure to perform these duties can result in fines and/or imprisonment. Consequently, I am required to identify my clients and will request from you such information and documentation as I require and/or make searches of appropriate databases.

Fees and Contracted Hours

Fees will be either on an hourly rate or fixed as agreed for the specific service.

Rates, guaranteed hours (where applicable) and fixed fees will be reviewed from time to time, but can be renegotiated at any stage by mutual consent. Any proposal for a change in rates will be notified 1 month prior to a proposed increase.

Payment is required within 15 days of receipt of invoice, paid by BACS/Faster Payments, or within the specific terms agreed per service.

I will give at least 2 weeks notice of any unavailability, such as vacations and where possible will make arrangements to accommodate the work for this period.

If I am unable to provide services due to, for example, illness or injury, I shall notify the client as soon as reasonably practicable


Contracted hours will be carried out off site unless an alternate location is agreed.

Agreement of terms and termination

Once agreed, the terms and conditions letter will remain effective from the date of agreement until it is replaced. Either party may vary or terminate this agreement without penalty.

Notice of termination must be given in writing by either party, providing 14 days’ notice. Accrued/outstanding fees will be payable.
